The Shadow Rituals Errata appear below as downloads (pdf files) and also as a list should you prefer hand correcting the parts. The errata affect only timpani and percussin parts; the score is correct.

These errors have been corrected for the second printing; all the below applies to the first printing only:

Bassoon

  • downbeat of m. 9 (score and parts) Eb, not E natural

TIMPANI AND PERCUSSION, PARTS ONLY:

Errors are from measure 152 to the end and only affect block rests in the timpani and percussion parts. Score is correct. Measure numbers are listed as they CURRENTLY appear in the percussion parts. (If you prefer, download the pdf files of the corrected parts, at left.)

Timpani

  • m. 152 - 10 measures of rest, not 5.
  • m. 160 - 3 measures of rest, not 2.

Once the corrections to the block rests have been made, the correct measure numbers are as follows:

  • Rehearsal number 166 should now be m. 172.
  • Rehearsal number 174 should now be m. 180.
  • The small measure number in the left margin should now be 168, not 162.

Percussion 1

  • m. 153 - 7 measures of rest, not 4.
  • m. 159 - 4 measures of rest, not 2.

Once the corrections to the block rests have been made, the correct measure numbers are as follows:

  • Rehearsal number 167 should now be m. 172.
  • Rehearsal number 175 should now be m. 180.

Percussion 2

  • m. 153 - 8 measures of rest, not 5.
  • m. 161 - 3 measures of rest, not 2.

Once the corrections to the block rests have been made, the correct measure numbers are as follows:

  • Rehearsal number 168 should now be m. 172.
  • Rehearsal number 176 should now be m. 180.
  • The small measure number in the left margin should now be 173, not 169.

Percussion 3

  • m. 153 - 6 measures of rest, not 4.
  • m. 165 - 3/4 time signature repeated from m. 152.
  • m. 164 through 169 should have 6 measures of rest, not 5.

Once the corrections to the block rests have been made, the correct measure numbers are as follows:

  • Rehearsal number 169 should now be m. 172.
  • Rehearsal number 177 should now be m. 180.
  • The small rehearsal number in the left margin should now be 162, not 160.

Percussion 4

  • m. 153 - 8 measures of rest, not 5.
  • m. 161 - 2 measures of rest, not 1.

Once the corrections to the block rests have been made, the correct measure numbers are as follows:

  • Rehearsal number 168 should now be m. 172.
  • Rehearsal number 176 should now be m. 180.
  • The small measure number in the left margin should now be 161, not 158.

Percussion 5

  • m. 153 - 6 measures of rest, not 4.
  • m. 164 - 6 measures of rest, not 5.

Once the corrections to the block rests have been made, the correct measure numbers are as follows:

  • Rehearsal number 169 should now be m. 172.
  • Rehearsal number 177 should now be m. 180.
  • The small measure number in the left margin should now be 163, not 161.
